The Louvre, found in the city of Paris, France, is considered by many to be one of the very best art museums in the world, but also one of the largest. For those that have never been to it before, they may feel completely overwhelmed by how big it really is, and just how much is available to see.

The Venus de Milo
The Venus de Milo is regarded as one of the most recognisable pieces of art, alongside the Mona Lisa and the statue of David. It’s over 2000 years old, and it’s very apparent to see just how much hard work went into making it.
The French first acquired the piece from Melos, a small island in Greece, back in 1821, and they put a lot of effort into promoting and marketing it to the public. The Raft Of The Medusa
An incredibly magnificent artwork that was inspired by the wreck of the medusa, which was a French frigate that saw its end just off of the coast of Mauritius. 151 of those onboard were able to escape while the ship sunk, but they quickly found themselves in unforgiving water with very little in the way of provisions.
Of those 151, only 15 of them were found alive by the time that help came along. Regardless, it’s a powerful piece that is considered one of the first works in the wave of Romanticism.
The Mona Lisa
Most people would probably make it a priority to see the famous portrait of Mona Lisa, completed by Leonardo da Vinci in the late 16th century.
